Are You Doing The Best You Are Capable Of?

In life, the phrase "doing our best" is a common mantra. Whether it's in our careers, relationships, or personal goals, we often reassure ourselves that we're giving it our all. But as an athlete, I've learned that there's always that extra gear, that last push we can give during a race, a challenge, or even in our everyday lives.

What if we decided to tap into that extra reserve of strength and determination more often? What if we pushed through those moments where we think we're doing our best but know deep down there's still more to give? Would that bring us closer to reaching our full potential, our own version of perfection?

It's essential to acknowledge that perfection is an elusive concept. None of us are flawless, and striving for perfection can be a recipe for frustration and disappointment. However, the pursuit of improvement, of pushing beyond our perceived limits, is where growth happens.

Think about it. When you're in the middle of a tough race, your body is exhausted, and every muscle is screaming at you to stop, what keeps you going? It's that inner voice telling you that you can do it, that you have more in you than you realise. It's about pushing through the discomfort, the doubt, and the fear, and reaching deep within yourself for that extra reserve of energy.

The same principle applies to life. We all face challenges, setbacks, and moments of doubt. But what if instead of settling for "doing our best," we embraced the idea that there's always room for improvement? What if we pushed through the fear of failure, the discomfort of change, and the uncertainty of the unknown?

By doing so, we not only expand our capabilities but also open ourselves up to new opportunities and experiences. We become more resilient, more adaptable, and more confident in our ability to overcome whatever life throws our way.

So, the next time you find yourself saying, "I'm doing my best," ask yourself, "Can I do even better?" Challenge yourself to push through those moments of doubt and discomfort, knowing that on the other side lies growth, progress, and the fulfillment of your true potential.
