Who Has Shaped Your Soul?
We never have success on our own. No matter what path we’re walking — whether it’s sport, business, or just navigating life — there are always people in our corner, helping to shape what is to come.
That shaping can happen in all sorts of ways. Sometimes it’s through love, encouragement and belief. The people who saw something in you long before you saw it in yourself. The ones who taught you to stand tall, to work hard, to keep going — even when things got tough. Maybe they taught you by example. Maybe they held your hand when you needed it most.
Other times, it’s adversity that does the shaping. The doubters. The tough lessons. The hard moments when you had to dig deep, push through, and learn to rely on yourself. Struggle has a way of sharpening your spirit. Of helping you figure out what you're made of.
For me, I’ve been incredibly lucky. I had a loving mom and dad who taught me through their actions what integrity looked like. They believed in me, and they made sure I knew I was capable of anything I set my heart to. I saw them work hard. I saw them give without expecting anything in return. And I saw what it means to live a life of purpose.
I’ve also had coaches, teammates, friends — and even critics — who’ve shaped me in ways they probably don’t even realise.
So I want to ask you…
Who do you owe your growth to?
Who helped you find your grit?
Who has helped shape your soul?
Take a moment. Think of them. And if you can — tell them. Because none of us get here alone.
