The Power of Choice
How often do we forget that we actually have a choice? That we have the power to shape our lives, our direction, our story. It’s easy to blame circumstances or other people when things don’t go the way we hoped. But at the end of the day, no one else is responsible for our path — we are.
There are moments in life when it would be easier to give up, stay where we are, or just go with the flow. But we also have the option to stand up, step forward, and follow the path that we choose — even if it’s the harder one. That path, with all its twists and turns, is where we find our strength. It’s where resilience is built, where purpose takes shape.
One of the biggest choices I’ve ever made was leaving behind my life in Canada — my family, friends, and everything familiar — to move to Australia and be with Russ, the man I loved. It was exciting, but also terrifying. I had to start over. I had to build a new network, a new career, and a new sense of home. It wasn’t easy, and there were moments I questioned everything. But deep down, I knew it was the right path for me. That one choice opened doors I never could’ve imagined — not just in love, but in life, sport, and personal growth.
The truth is, for most of us, the choice is ours. Right or wrong, easy or challenging, it’s still ours to make. And when we start owning our choices, we start owning our lives.
So, what will you choose today? To stay stuck — or to take that first step toward the life you truly want?
